TRAJECTORY OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

“INDUSTRIAL DESIGN”

An incoming applicant must have a secondary and / or secondary special education in the specialization chosen for admission or related to it (art, architecture, construction, design and other colleges), an art education (art school, studio) or undergo training in the chosen specialization for preparatory courses at  T. Zhurgenov KazNAA . The applicant must possess a level of general knowledge corresponding to a high school graduate, a high intellectual level and broad outlook, knowledge in the field of world and Kazakhstani fine art, history, culture, design, architecture, fashion trends.

Applicant must own:

  • The main skills of submitting academic drawing, painting, drawing and composition;
  • The concepts of compositional shaping and modeling;
  • Various techniques for submitting an ideological concept;
  • Practical skills in working with watercolor and gouache paints and all drawing instruments (ruler, square, compass, protractor, etc.).

Have a developed aesthetic taste, a sense of color, shape, proportions and proportions of parts, as well as imaginative creative thinking and imagination.

Creative exams

For applicants for the specialty “Design”, regardless of specialization, two creative exams are conducted, which are aimed at identifying the above knowledge, skills. The first creative exam includes two disciplines “Drawing” and “Painting”, which, passing separately, but put up one grade. The requirements and objects of the image according to the “Drawing” and “Painting” are the same for all design specializations. The second type of the creative exam “Composition” involves the task of developing a three-dimensional spatial composition of a residential interior. Thus, the applicant submits:

  1. Figure – depict a still life with an element of a classical architectural order (6 hours)

Painting – depict a still life with geometric shapes (6 hours)

  1. Composition – to develop compositions by specialization (“Architectural Design”, “Industrial Design”, “Graphic Design”, “Landscape Design”);

 

Requirements for the exam “Drawing”

Assignment: still life with an element of a classical architectural order (6 hours)

Requirements:

– competently for a compiled image of all still life objects on a sheet (in format);

– constructive construction and accuracy of proportions;

– transfer of volumetric-plastic forms of an object;

– competent transmission of basic tonal relationships and the level of detail;

– completion of work.

Solution: monochrome

Material: drawing paper 40×60 cm, pencils of different hard-softness, eraser.

Requirements for the exam “Painting”

Assignment: still life with geometric shapes (6 hours)

Requirements:

– competently for a compiled image of all still life objects on a sheet (in format);

– constructive construction and accuracy of proportions of all elements of a still life;

– transfer of volume, depth and space of a still life;

– competent transmission of basic tonal and coloristic relationships and the level of detail;

– completion of work.

Solution: Polychrome

Material: drawing paper 40×60 cm, gouache, acrylic, watercolor, brushes, water jar, palette.

 

Requirements for the Composition Exam

Assignment: development of upholstered furniture for a seat (chair) (6 hours, maximum score –40).

Requirements:

– compliance with a given topic, a creative approach to the disclosure of the topic;

– a competent compositional solution of a furniture form (not a standard solution of a form, an interesting solution to a design, selection of color and texture of a material, etc.) using composite expressive means (scale, integrity, main-secondary, symmetry-asymmetry, meter-rhythm, static -dynamics, contrast nuance);

– artistic expressiveness, harmony and aesthetics of the designed form of furniture (armchair);

– possession of graphic techniques, materials and drawing tools;

– knowledge of isometric and axonometric drawing skills;

– the ability to convey the volume of form, materiality, light, shadows and reflexes of upholstered furniture;

– completeness of compositional work.

Solution: polychromatic and graphic;

Material: drawing paper 40×60 cm, drawing instruments (ruler, compass, protractor, square), gouache, watercolor, brushes, water jar, palette, graphite and color pencils, eraser, markers.
